Fury, Joshua now fight for money, glamour – Oboh

Date:

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are set for a rematch on December 21, following Usyk’s historic victory over Fury by split decision in Riyadh this past May, marking Fury’s first professional defeat. As Fury aims to reclaim the heavyweight title and secure his third championship, he remains optimistic about his chances in December, despite his recent loss.

However, former British and Commonwealth Light Heavyweight Champion, Peter Oboh, has expressed concern over Fury and fellow British boxer Anthony Joshua’s continued participation in the sport. Oboh suggested that both fighters have “passed their prime” and should consider retirement to protect their long-term health and preserve their legacies. Drawing a parallel with boxing great Tommy Hearns, Oboh highlighted the potential health risks of prolonged boxing careers. He advised Fury and Joshua to retire as legends to avoid serious health issues in the future.
