Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State recently assured all corps members of their safety and welfare throughout their service year in the state. The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Aminu Gumel, gave this assurance during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II corps members.
The event took place at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Fanisau, Dutse, where thousands of corps members were sworn in. The government promised to provide all necessary support to ensure their stay in Jigawa is both safe and comfortable.
A Focus on Support and Community
The governor’s message highlighted his administration’s commitment to supporting the NYSC scheme. He mentioned that Jigawa State values the contributions of corps members and will continue to prioritize their welfare. The deputy governor also encouraged the corps members to see their service year as a chance to help local communities and contribute to national development.
In addition to safety assurances, the Jigawa State government has shown its support for corps members by making improvements to the orientation camp. Recent efforts include the renovation of key facilities like the male hostel, the camp clinic, and the main hall.
The NYSC State Coordinator for Jigawa, Jidda Dawud, noted that 2,000 corps members have been deployed to the state for this batch. He also urged the corps members to follow the scheme’s rules and regulations, emphasizing that their discipline and commitment will be key to a successful service year.
