Russia threatens to use Nuclear bomb on Ukraine

Date:

Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, has warned that Moscow could resort to nuclear weapons in the Ukraine conflict and potentially against countries he described as becoming parties to a nuclear confrontation with Russia.

His remarks followed claims by Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service that the United Kingdom and France are planning to transfer nuclear capabilities to Ukraine.

In a statement posted on Telegram, Medvedev argued that such a move would significantly escalate the conflict. He described the alleged plan as a direct transfer of nuclear weapons to a country currently at war, saying it would fundamentally alter the situation.

He further stated that if Ukraine were to receive nuclear weapons, Russia would respond with what he called a “symmetrical” measure, including the potential use of non-strategic nuclear weapons against targets in Ukraine deemed to threaten Russian security.

Medvedev maintained that Russia would consider such action within its rights, warning that any supplier nations involved could be viewed as participants in a nuclear conflict.
