NAF airstrikes kill 25 terrorists in Borno, Yobe

Date:

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has conducted a series of airstrikes that have resulted in the deaths of at least 25 terrorists in Borno and Yobe states.1 The operations were carried out as part of the military’s ongoing efforts to combat insurgency in the North-East region of Nigeria.2

Details of the Airstrikes

The airstrikes were conducted in two separate locations based on credible intelligence reports.

  • Borno State: In Borno, NAF aircraft successfully targeted a terrorist camp, neutralizing a significant number of insurgents.3 The intelligence indicated that the location was a major rendezvous point for terrorists planning attacks on civilian communities and military formations.4 The precision strikes destroyed key facilities and killed over a dozen terrorists.
  • Yobe State: A similar operation took place in Yobe, where a hideout used by another terrorist group was struck. The coordinated airstrikes eliminated several fighters and destroyed their equipment and logistics supplies.5

The NAF has stated that these operations are aimed at degrading the capabilities of terrorist groups, disrupting their supply chains, and preventing them from launching attacks. The military is continuing its surveillance and reconnaissance missions to identify and neutralize more threats in the region.6
