PHOTOS: Shettima returns to Abuja after attending UNGA, meetings in Germany

Vice President Kashim Shettima has returned to Abuja after representing President Bola Tinubu at the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York and other engagements in Germany.

During his time abroad, Shettima delivered Nigeria’s national statement at UNGA, where he called for reforms of the global body. He also advocated for Africa’s control over its mineral resources, which are estimated to be worth around $700 billion. Additionally, the Vice President engaged in several high-level meetings, including with the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres, who commended Nigeria’s bid for a permanent seat on the UN Security Council.

Before returning to Nigeria, Shettima also traveled to Germany for strategic meetings with officials from Deutsche Bank to discuss potential partnerships. His return to Nigeria marks the end of a trip focused on strengthening international partnerships, attracting foreign investment, and promoting Nigeria’s interests on the global stage.
